Truck Dispatcher Responsibilities:<\/p>\n

Operational Coordination & Planning:\u00a0Proficiency in routing and scheduling trucks efficiently, especially for long-distance, local deliveries, and managing cross-border logistics (e.g., Addis-Djibouti corridor)
\nCommunication & Negotiation:\u00a0Ability to clearly communicate with drivers, brokers, and customers and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers.
\nTechnical Proficiency:\u00a0Competence in using GPS tracking software, fleet monitoring systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) for reporting.
\nProblem-Solving & Decision-Making:\u00a0Proactive approach to managing unexpected issues such as traffic, weather, breakdowns, or road closures, and handling high-pressure situations.
\nDocumentation Management:\u00a0Skilled in preparing waybills, dispatch records, freight bills, and ensuring all transport permits are in order.
\nAttention to Detail:\u00a0Meticulous in monitoring fuel consumption, driver performance, and vehicle maintenance logs.
\nScheduling drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments and packages.
\nCommunicating with customers about freight details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests.
\nPlanning pre-determined routes and accommodating route changes as needed.
\nPreparing dispatch documents, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.
\nMaintaining records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pickup times.
