The Project Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing community-based health and polio eradication interventions. The role
\nfocuses on strengthening community surveillance systems, increasing immunization coverage, and improving MNCH and overall community health
\noutcomes at the grassroots level. The officer supports the design and delivery of evidence-based and innovative interventions, ensuring alignment with
\nnational health priorities and best practices. This includes building the capacity of field staff and partners to deliver quality, sustainable services. The
\nProject Officer also ensures effective coordination and integration of activities across target woredas (Bambasi and Homosha), promoting synergy and
\nefficient resource utilization. The role oversees timely and quality implementation, proper documentation, and compliance with donor and
\norganizational requirements. In addition, the officer contributes to monitoring, evaluation, and learning by supporting data collection, analysis, and
\nknowledge management to inform continuous improvement. The position actively engages with key stakeholders including government health offices,
\nUN agencies, NGOs, and community structures to strengthen collaboration and advocate for effective disease prevention and control strategies<\/p>\n

Program Planning and Implementation<\/p>\n
Support planning processes by working closely with woreda health offices, health\u00a0facilities, and community structures to develop annual, quarterly, and monthly\u00a0activity plans aligned with CGPP objectives and national health strategies.
\nSupport micro-planning for immunization and community outreach, including\u00a0identifying zero-dose and under-immunized children, mapping hard-to-reach areas,\u00a0and scheduling regular outreach sessions. Strengthen the capacity of health workers and community volunteers to effectively implement these plans.
\nCoordinate implementation of project activities at woreda and kebele levels,\u00a0ensuring all planned interventions such as social mobilization, community\u00a0dialogues, defaulter tracing, and service linkages are conducted on time and with quality.
\nEnsure integration with the primary health care system, working closely with health\u00a0extension workers (HEWs), health development armies (HDAs), and health facility\u00a0staff to strengthen routine immunization and other MNCH services.
\nMonitor progress of implementation through regular field visits, supportive\u00a0supervision, and review meetings. Identify bottlenecks early and take corrective\u00a0actions to improve performance.
\nPromote community engagement and ownership by involving local leaders,\u00a0religious leaders, and community groups in planning and implementation to
\nincrease acceptance and demand for immunization services.
\nEnsure efficient use of resources, including proper planning, allocation, and\u00a0tracking of project inputs to maximize impact and avoid delays.
\nPrepare and submit regular implementation reports, documenting achievements,\u00a0challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement\u00a0Promote and Support Zero Doze and under immunized children<\/p>\n
Required Professional Experience<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Health Officer, or a related field (Master\u2019s degree is an added advantage).
\nAt least 3\u20135 years of relevant experience in community-based health programs, preferably in immunization, polio\u00a0eradication, or MNCH.
