Alpha Steel Factory is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including ledger maintenance, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.<\/p>\n \u2022 Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS\/GAAP.<\/p>\n \u2022 Coordinate and lead the month-end and year-end close process.<\/p>\n \u2022 Reconcile account balances and maintain general ledger integrity.<\/p>\n \u2022 Ensure timely reporting of all monthly financial information.<\/p>\n \u2022 Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.<\/p>\n \u2022 Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.<\/p>\n \u2022 Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.<\/p>\n \u2022 Supervise junior accountants and accounting staff, providing guidance and training.<\/p>\n \u2022 Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and company policies.<\/p>\n \u2022 Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.<\/p>\n Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master\u2019s preferred).<\/p>\n \u2022 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification preferred.<\/p>\n \u2022 Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.<\/p>\n \u2022 Solid knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).<\/p>\n \u2022 Experience in ERP\/accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, etc.).<\/p>\n \u2022 Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.).<\/p>\n \u2022 Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.<\/p>\n \u2022 High attention to detail and accuracy.<\/p>\n \u2022 Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.<\/p>\n \u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n Preferred<\/strong>:<\/p>\n \u2022 Experience in manufacturing, trading, or similar sectors.<\/p>\n \u2022 Familiarity with Ethiopian tax laws and financial reporting standards (if based in Ethiopia).<\/p>\n \u2022 Working knowledge of import\/export accounting, cost accounting, or project accounting is a plus.<\/p>\n PLEASE NOTE- IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE PLEASE DON’T APPLY.
