Job Title: Technical Assistance for Integrating Vitamin A Capsule Supply into Ethiopia’s National Pharmaceutical Supply Chain

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced technical expert to provide assistance in integrating Vitamin A capsule supply into Ethiopia’s national pharmaceutical supply chain. The successful candidate will be seconded to the Ministry of Health and will work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure the effective and efficient distribution of Vitamin A capsules. The goal of this position is to strengthen the national pharmaceutical supply chain and improve the coverage and quality of health services in Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the current Vitamin A capsule supply chain and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop a comprehensive plan for integrating Vitamin A capsule supply into the national pharmaceutical supply chain
  • Provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and other relevant stakeholders to implement the plan
  • Collaborate with national and international partners to ensure the effective and efficient distribution of Vitamin A capsules
  • Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework to track the progress and impact of the integration
  • Build the capacity of Ministry of Health staff and other stakeholders on Vitamin A capsule supply chain management
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with the integration of Vitamin A capsule supply into the national pharmaceutical supply chain

Requirements

  • Masters’ degree in Pharmacy, Public Health, Logistics, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical supply chain management, preferably in a developing country context
  • Proven experience in providing technical assistance to government institutions or international organizations
  • Strong knowledge of the Ethiopian national pharmaceutical supply chain and the health system
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an asset
  • Familiarity with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health and its systems is an advantage
