Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Accountant to join our team for a 6-month contract period. As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations, preparing tax returns, and providing tax planning and advisory services to our organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review tax returns, including income tax, VAT, and withholding tax, to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Conduct tax planning and provide advisory services to management on tax-related matters.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax benefits.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, and advise management on the impact of these changes on the organization.
  • Maintain accurate and complete tax records, and ensure that all tax-related documents are properly filed and stored.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in taxation and accounting, preferably in a similar industry or sector.
  • Professional certification in accounting, such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA, is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including income tax, VAT, and withholding tax.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as Peachtree or QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required, with knowledge of other local languages being an advantage.
