Senior Cost and Budget Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost and Budget Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing budgets, financial reports, and forecasts, as well as analyzing financial data to optimize business performance. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical accounting skills, excellent analytical abilities, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive financial models and budgets to support business planning and decision-making
• Analyze financial data and trends to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements
• Prepare and present regular financial reports, including management accounts, forecasts, and variance analyses
• Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage budgets, financial plans, and forecasts
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decisions and strategic planning
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies
• Lead and participate in special projects, such as financial system implementations and process improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA (Ethiopia) or ACCA, is highly preferred
• At least 5 years of experience in cost and budget accounting, preferably in a similar industry or sector
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in financial planning and budgeting software, such as SAP or Oracle
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with ability to motivate and guide team members
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
