Senior Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of financial accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial records and will work closely with the management team to provide financial guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Manage and supervise a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial tasks
• Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to management to inform business decisions
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning and decision-making
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including preparation and submission of tax returns
• Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a senior role
• Professional certification in accounting, such as ACA, ACCA, or CMA, is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, as well as international financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and developing teams
