Job Title: Quality & Safety Officer — Laboratory

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality & Safety Officer to join our laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our laboratory operations, implementing and maintaining quality management systems, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory operations
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards in the laboratory, and implement corrective actions as needed
• Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff on quality and safety procedures and protocols
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and compliance with organizational quality and safety policies
• Investigate and report any incidents or accidents in the laboratory, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry standards, and ensure that laboratory operations are compliant

Requirements

• BSc degree in a relevant field such as Medical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a focus on quality management and safety
• Knowledge of quality management systems and standards, such as ISO 15189
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and guide laboratory staff
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Certification in quality management or laboratory safety is an asset
