PROJECT MEDICAL REFERENT – Southwest Omo Zone

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Medical Referent to lead our medical projects in the Southwest Omo Zone. As a Project Medical Referent, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of medical projects, providing technical support, and ensuring the quality of medical care in the region. Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and guidance to medical staff in the implementation of medical projects
• Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress, identify challenges, and provide solutions
• Collaborate with local health authorities, partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation
• Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, leaders, and other stakeholders to promote project acceptance and support
• Ensure the quality of medical care in the project area, including the provision of training and support to medical staff
• Collect and analyze data to inform project decision-making and improve project outcomes
• Represent the organization in meetings and forums related to medical projects in the Southwest Omo Zone

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree from a recognized university in Ethiopia, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field is an advantage
• Experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation, and team leadership
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian healthcare systems, policies, and regulations
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to travel frequently to remote areas
• Fluency in English and Amharic languages is required; knowledge of local languages in the Southwest Omo Zone is an advantage
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and data analysis software
• Registration with the Ethiopian Medical Association is required
