Procurement and Logistic Officer (ProLog Officer)

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Procurement and Logistic Officer (ProLog Officer) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement and logistics functions of our organization, ensuring that all goods and services are acquired and delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner. The ProLog Officer will work closely with various departments to identify procurement needs, develop procurement plans, and implement logistics strategies to achieve organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement and logistics strategies to support organizational objectives
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts
• Manage the procurement process, including soliciting bids, evaluating proposals, and awarding contracts
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs and develop procurement plans
• Manage the logistics and supply chain functions, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
• Monitor and report on procurement and logistics performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost savings, lead times, and supplier performance
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement and logistics, preferably in a similar industry or organization
• Professional certification in procurement and logistics, such as CIPS or APICS, is an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian procurement and logistics laws and regulations
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an added advantage
