Midwife

Key Responsibilities

• Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to patients, including conducting routine check-ups, monitoring fetal development, and assisting with deliveries
• Conduct health education and counseling sessions with patients on topics such as nutrition, breastfeeding, and family planning
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including obstetricians, nurses, and medical officers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, test results, and treatment plans

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery from a recognized institution, such as the Ethiopian Midwifery Association or a reputable university
• Registration with the Ethiopian Federal Democratic Republic Ministry of Health as a licensed Midwife
• At least 2 years of experience working as a Midwife in a hospital, clinic, or other healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of midwifery principles, practices, and protocols, including those related to pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities
