Laboratory Supervisor – Korem Project (READVERTIZED)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at the Korem Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory staff and provide guidance and support to ensure effective test procedures and results
• Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with laboratory standards and regulations
• Manage laboratory resources, including equipment, supplies, and budget
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of laboratory services with other project activities
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies and methodologies, and implement changes as necessary to improve laboratory operations

Requirements

• BSc degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role
• Registration with the Ethiopian Medical Laboratory Technologists Association (EMLTA) or equivalent professional body
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control, and quality assurance
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems
• Fluency in English and Amharic; knowledge of local languages is an asset
