Laboratory Manager

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operations of our laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of laboratory activities, including testing, quality control, and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
• Manage laboratory staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation
• Oversee laboratory testing and analysis, including method development and validation
• Ensure quality control and quality assurance procedures are in place and followed
• Manage laboratory budgets and resources, including equipment maintenance and procurement
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of laboratory services
• Investigate and resolve laboratory-related issues and complaints

Requirements

• BSc or MSc degree in a relevant field, such as Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, or Chemistry from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 5 years of experience in a laboratory management role, preferably in a similar industry
• Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations and standards, including ISO 15189 and Ethiopian laboratory standards
• Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in staff supervision and development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with staff, management, and external stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software applications
• Registration with the Ethiopian Medical Laboratory Technologists Association or other relevant professional body is an advantage
