Job Title: Health & Nutrition Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health & Nutrition Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring health and nutrition programs to improve the well-being of vulnerable populations. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs assessments and analyze data to identify health and nutrition gaps in target populations
  • Develop and implement health and nutrition programs, including training and capacity-building activities for local health workers and community members
  • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to coordinate health and nutrition services and advocate for policy changes
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed
  • Provide technical assistance and support to local health facilities and community-based health programs
  • Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and compliance with donor requirements

Requirements

  • BSc degree in Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 3 years of experience in health and nutrition programming, preferably in a developing country context
  • Strong knowledge of health and nutrition principles, including program design, implementation, and evaluation
  • Experience working with government agencies, NGOs, and community-based organizations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Fluency in Amharic and English; knowledge of other local languages an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and creatively
