Job Title: Health and Nutrition Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Health and Nutrition Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring health and nutrition programs to improve the well-being of vulnerable populations. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and nutrition programs to address the needs of target populations
  • Conduct needs assessments and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and measure program effectiveness
  • Collaborate with local health authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to strengthen health systems and promote nutrition practices
  • Provide training and capacity-building support to health workers and community volunteers on health and nutrition topics
  • Monitor and evaluate program progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed
  • Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and compliance with organizational policies
  • Represent the organization in external meetings and forums, promoting our work and building partnerships with key stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 3 years of experience in health and nutrition programming, preferably in a development or humanitarian context
  • Strong understanding of the Ethiopian health system and nutrition policies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proven experience in program design, implementation, and monitoring, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in English and Amharic; additional language skills an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to travel to field locations as needed
