Job Title: Finance Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial activities of our organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The Finance Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the financial stability and growth of our organization, and will work closely with the management team to achieve our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage the organization’s budget, including forecasting and financial planning
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage and maintain the organization’s financial systems, including accounting software and spreadsheets
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries, taxes, and other expenses
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to the management team on financial matters
• Develop and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a similar industry
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA or ACCA, is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in financial software, including accounting packages such as Peachtree or QuickBooks
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to meet deadlines
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
