Job Title: Automation Engineer

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Automation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and processes to improve efficiency and productivity. The Automation Engineer will work closely with our production and maintenance teams to identify areas for automation and develop solutions to meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated systems and processes using a variety of technologies, including robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and human-machine interfaces (HMIs)
• Conduct site visits to observe and analyze existing processes and identify areas for automation
• Develop and maintain documentation for automated systems, including technical specifications, user manuals, and training materials
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality assurance, to ensure automated systems meet business needs and are properly integrated with existing systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated systems, including debugging code and repairing or replacing faulty equipment
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies and trends in automation and make recommendations for implementation

Requirements

• BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 3 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Strong knowledge of automation technologies, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics
• Proficiency in programming languages, such as C++, Java, or Python
• Experience with automation software, such as Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley RSLogix, or similar
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Certification in automation engineering or a related field is an advantage
