Job Title: Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company’s financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage and maintain general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including VAT and income tax
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
• Manage and supervise junior accounting staff

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA or ACCA, is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as Peachtree or QuickBooks
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently, with attention to detail
