Senior Nutrition Manager / Officer
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Nutrition Manager / Officer to lead our nutrition programs and initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating nutrition programs, as well as providing technical assistance and support to our teams and partners. The Senior Nutrition Manager / Officer will play a critical role in promoting healthy nutrition practices and improving the overall well-being of our target communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive nutrition programs and strategies to address the needs of our target communities
- Conduct nutrition assessments and analyses to identify areas of need and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including health, education, and community development, to integrate nutrition into broader programs and initiatives
- Provide technical assistance and training to program staff, partners, and community members on nutrition-related topics
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed
- Develop and manage budgets, work plans, and other program-related documents
- Represent the organization in external meetings and forums, promoting our nutrition programs and initiatives
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university or a reputable international institution
- At least 5 years of experience in nutrition program management, preferably in an international development or humanitarian context
- Proven expertise in nutrition program design, implementation, and evaluation, with a strong understanding of Ethiopian health and nutrition policies and guidelines
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including communities, governments, and donors
- Fluency in English and Amharic, with proficiency in other local languages an asset
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience with budget management, program planning, and monitoring and evaluation, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
- Registration with the Ethiopian Nutrition Society or a related professional body is an advantage
