Mental Health Psychosocial Support Services Officer

Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Psychosocial Support Services Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance on mental health and psychosocial support services to our programs and staff. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the well-being of vulnerable populations in Ethiopia.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement mental health and psychosocial support services strategies and plans in line with the organization’s goals and objectives
- Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to program staff on mental health and psychosocial support services
- Conduct assessments and identify gaps in mental health and psychosocial support services in target areas
- Design and implement training programs for staff and community members on mental health and psychosocial support services
- Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community-based organizations
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mental health and psychosocial support services programs and make recommendations for improvement
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
- At least 3 years of experience in mental health and psychosocial support services, preferably in a humanitarian or development context
- Proven experience in designing and implementing mental health and psychosocial support services programs
- Strong technical knowledge of mental health and psychosocial support services, including assessment, prevention, and treatment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders
- Fluency in English and Amharic is required; additional language skills are an asset
- Computer literacy, with experience in Microsoft Office and data analysis software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration
