Brief Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Personal Special Needs Teacher to provide one-on-one support to a child with special needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a personalized learning plan, implementing individualized instruction, and fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a personalized learning plan tailored to the child’s unique needs and abilities
  • Provide one-on-one instruction and support to the child, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Collaborate with parents, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to the child’s education and development
  • Monitor and assess the child’s progress, adjusting the learning plan as needed to ensure they meet their goals
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the child, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children with special needs, preferably in a one-on-one setting
  • Strong knowledge of special education principles, practices, and methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and professionals
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to providing high-quality support and care to children with special needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing circumstances
  • Proficiency in Amharic and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds
