Cashier Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cashier Accountant to join our team. As a Cashier Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and processing financial transactions, handling cash and other forms of payments, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process financial transactions, including receipts, payments, and journal entries
  • Handle cash, cheques, and other forms of payments, and ensure accurate and secure handling and storage of cash
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and spreadsheets
  • Reconcile cash and credit card transactions, and investigate any discrepancies or irregularities
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues or complaints
  • Collaborate with other departments, including sales, purchasing, and management, to ensure smooth financial operations
  • Prepare and submit financial reports, including daily and monthly reports, to management and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a retail or commercial environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and Ethiopian tax laws
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including Peachtree, QuickBooks, or similar systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with customers, colleagues, and management
  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Certification in accounting, such as CPA or ACCA, is an added advantage
