Consultancy – Baseline Survey for SET Project

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant to conduct a baseline survey for our SET project. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive survey to establish a baseline for the project’s indicators, which will serve as a reference point for future evaluations and assessments. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our team and contribute to the success of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a baseline survey methodology and tools, including questionnaires, sampling frameworks, and data collection protocols
  • Conduct literature reviews and stakeholder analyses to inform the survey design and methodology
  • Develop a detailed work plan and timeline for the baseline survey, including key milestones and deliverables
  • Recruit and train enumerators and supervise data collection activities
  • Analyze and interpret survey data, and prepare a comprehensive report on the baseline survey findings
  • Present the baseline survey findings to the project team and stakeholders, and provide recommendations for future evaluations and assessments

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as statistics, sociology, or economics, from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 5 years of experience in conducting surveys, evaluations, or assessments, preferably in a development context
  • Proven expertise in survey design, methodology, and data analysis, including experience with statistical software packages such as SPSS or SPSS
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies is an asset
  • Ability to travel to rural areas of Ethiopia, as required
