Job Title: Epidemiology Activity Manager
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Epidemiology Activity Manager to lead and manage epidemiology activities, including disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, and research. The successful candidate will work closely with government agencies, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate epidemiology programs. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement epidemiology programs, including disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, and research studies
- Collaborate with government agencies, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to design and implement epidemiology activities
- Conduct data analysis and interpretation, and prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders
- Provide technical assistance and training to healthcare workers and other stakeholders on epidemiology principles and methods
- Develop and manage budgets, work plans, and other project management tools to ensure effective implementation of epidemiology activities
- Represent the organization in national and international meetings, conferences, and other events related to epidemiology
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university or a foreign university accredited by the Ethiopian Ministry of Education
- At least 5 years of experience in epidemiology, public health, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years in a management or supervisory role
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating epidemiology programs, including disease surveillance and outbreak investigation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and interpretation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working with government agencies, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders
- Fluency in English and Amharic, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
- Certification in epidemiology or a related field, such as the Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) certification, is an advantage
