Job Title: Public Health Coordinator

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing public health programs, conducting research, and collaborating with stakeholders to improve the overall health and wellbeing of the community. The Public Health Coordinator will work closely with local health authorities, healthcare providers, and community organizations to develop and implement effective public health strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement public health programs, including disease prevention and control, health education, and health promotion
  • Conduct research and analyze data to identify health trends and develop evidence-based public health interventions
  • Collaborate with local health authorities, healthcare providers, and community organizations to develop and implement public health strategies
  • Develop and implement health education programs to promote healthy behaviors and disease prevention
  • Provide technical assistance and support to healthcare providers and community organizations to improve public health outcomes
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of public health programs and make recommendations for improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 3 years of experience in public health programming, health education, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Ethiopian health policies and regulations, including the National Health Policy and the Health Care Financing Strategy
  • Experience working with local health authorities, healthcare providers, and community organizations
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform public health decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Fluency in Amharic and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages
  • Certification in public health or a related field, such as the Certified Public Health Professional (CPHP) designation, is an asset
