Job Title: Project Officer – Community Level Oromia region Woredas
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Officer to work at the community level in the Oromia region Woredas. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of project activities, building strong relationships with local communities, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Project Officer will work closely with local government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project plans and activities at the community level in accordance with the project proposal and logical framework
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives
- Conduct community mobilization and sensitization activities to raise awareness about project activities and objectives
- Identify and build partnerships with local organizations and community groups to support project implementation
- Provide training and capacity-building support to local government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating any risks or challenges that may arise
- Ensure that project activities are implemented in a participatory and inclusive manner, with a focus on promoting gender equality and social inclusion
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, or related fields from a recognized Ethiopian university
- At least 3 years of experience working in a similar role, preferably in a community development or project management context
- Strong understanding of community development principles and practices, with a focus on participatory and inclusive approaches
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with local government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders
- Fluency in Afaan Oromo and Amharic languages is required, with English language skills an added advantage
- Experience working in the Oromia region, with a strong understanding of local culture and context
- Ability to work in a team environment, with a focus on promoting collaboration and cooperation among stakeholders
