Amenti Daniel Emiru

Amenti Daniel Emiru is an Ethiopian youth leader, aspiring diplomat, climate advocate, and social impact practitioner dedicated to advancing sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and youth empowerment. He currently serves as a Protocol Officer and trainee diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, where he supports high-level diplomatic engagements and contributes to major continental and international platforms, including the Africa-CARICOM Summit, the Africa Climate Summit, and sessions of the African Union Assembly.

Amenti is the Founder of Cosmos Ethiopia, a youth-led initiative focused on promoting science, innovation, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the areas of climate action and community development. His work bridges grassroots impact with global engagement, empowering young people to become active contributors to sustainable and inclusive societies.

He is actively involved in international climate and youth platforms, including YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the UNFCCC, and the Youth Plastic Action Network, where he contributes to climate advocacy, environmental awareness, and youth-driven solutions. As an SDG Campus Ambassador with AIIDEV Africa, he has mobilized and inspired youth to take meaningful action toward sustainable development and environmental responsibility.

Amenti has led impactful community-based initiatives such as “Gardening for Peace and Good,” which integrates environmental sustainability with peacebuilding by empowering communities through sustainable practices and social cohesion. His work emphasizes the importance of connecting environmental action with inclusive development and local resilience.

His leadership and advocacy have earned him international recognition, including being selected as one of the five global winners of the Habitat for Humanity International Volunteer Social Media Contest in September 2025, acknowledging his excellence in storytelling, community engagement, and promoting sustainable development.
